The live shows start tonight, so expect two-hour blocks of warbling to take up all of the TV schedule for the next 10 weeks. A curse for some, a blessing for others. The Saturday Night Show (RTÉ One, 10.05pm)
Love/Hate’s Peter Coonan (AKA Fran) will appear on the show tonight to discuss his role in the Gaiety’s production of Brendan Behan’s Borstal Boy. He’s just one of an interesting mix of guests, including actress Jane Seymour, author David Nicholls and FAI boss John Delaney. #satnightshow
Hanna (Channel 4, 9pm)
This critically acclaimed action thriller stars Saoirse Ronan as a girl raised to be the perfect assassin. Cate Blanchett plays the CIA agent trying to track her down. The Chemical Brothers-penned score is a highlight. #hanna
